Nice Engrish there
The Exit 192 one has to have been a photoshopped one.
Yeah... That one's definitely photoshopped. Wrong font.
They're all still hilarious though!

Yeah, quite common:
(https://www.aaroads.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg216.imageshack.us%2Fimg216%2F4519%2Fdscn0175rj7.jpg&hash=cc85b0e35dca0131f5042b5f82f9823d68844f32)
I seem to recall there being a sign that said both "White Plains" and "No White Plains", but my picture record appears to refute that...
Also:
(https://www.aaroads.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg410.imageshack.us%2Fimg410%2F8082%2Fdscn1580xr9.jpg&hash=e387f8bbede19c64012e6c64ee6a3dea07cad039)
Exit for sale!
Now, completely different part of the country....

Kind of redundant naming there, no? That means "Table Table Drive"
And last but not least...
(https://www.aaroads.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg222.imageshack.us%2Fimg222%2F6066%2Fdscn3924tj8.jpg&hash=9b51a696c2a5f422e7963dae757225cf38bce9a8)
Faileure in street naming.
In Punta Gorda FL, heading south along Taylor Ave, near where you cross the train tracks, there's a sign at the end of a sidewalk reading "CAUTION SIDEWALK ENDS HERE". I can't find the picture I took of it though. :-(

Ya know, there is a SPEED HUMP on a street that is in walking distance of me!
Yeah those SPEED HUMPs are pretty common... we have them around here... Same with the dog one and the trespassing one.
In Ontario they are called Speed Bumps. :-P

Speed Bumps and Speed Humps are actually two different things.
Speed bumps are the more common short, high bumps often used in parking lots that try to restrict maximum speed to 5-15 mph. (8-24 kph)
Speed humps are similar but the bumps (humps?) are longer and lower and restrict speed to 20-30 mph (32 - 48 kph) In Nashville, TN, they are used on residential through streets where the Metro government is trying to control speed.
This was a few posts ago:

I wonder if that is on US 50 in Nevada? :-D
I remember reading about Connecticut highways on www.kurumi.com (http://www.kurumi.com) and Kurumi had noted that on I-95 in CT a VMS was hacked by some kid. The VMS said "You all suck." The kid said there was no password on the system...

There are a couple on my VA 136/Alberta page (www.alpsroads.net/roads/va/va_136 (http://www.alpsroads.net/roads/va/va_136)) - Road Ends .01 mile and End State Maintenance on the tiniest little stub of a dead-end you've ever seen. You really can't tell without those signs?
I remember some kind of backwards sign in CA, doesn't anyone else remember this?
Anyone remember when a road crew in Sacramento misspelled the world STOP as "SOTP"?

They use that fairly often on cloverleaves, just usually in reverse, as that's the shape of the ramp. I assume that one is on a switchback in the mountains, in which place it would make perfect sense.
I still think its petty crazy a sign.
Wouldn't you rather put up 3 road curve signs instead or something?
BTW, above post edited now. You couldn't see all the images before.

I don't see the point of that. Instead of using 3 signs, this uses one, and is often found in situations where it is a really tight curve (thus the 15 mph), so instead of putting up 3 curve signs right after each other, they just combine them into one.

HAMMER TIME!
It's fairly common for vandals to spraypaint that on stop signs. I know I saw one in some odd corner of New Canaan, CT (of all places) once, and countless pictures of others are out there on the internet.
In the same vein although less common, you have this (Stamford, CT):
Another creative vandalized "fixing" of a sign (also Stamford):
(https://www.aaroads.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg100.imageshack.us%2Fimg100%2F4462%2Fdscn3661.jpg&hash=c8fc83217656b78e341e548065e96558699ac871)
(should say "Push button for green light")
In Santa Cruz, CA, where I grew up, people used to draw on surfboards to pedestrian crossing signs, to make it look like the stick pedestrian was carrying a surfboard. Unfortunately, the city has replaced all of those signs.
I also like the speed reduction signs that are used in Sunnyvale, CA. They use phrases like "Mr. Speeder, meet Mr. Traffic Cop", which were located on top of a drawing of a police car. I'll take some pictures of them the next time I'm in that area.

Maine Turnpike :-D
Wonder what it was before that!
There's a sign in Poteau, OK, pointing to Pansy Kidd Middle School. I don't have a photo of it, but it's visible on Street View at http://tinyurl.com/djtz5e (http://tinyurl.com/djtz5e)
This sign replaced a sign using a more traditional FHWA font.
LOL!!!! :-D :ded: :-o :spin:
1. Looks like you can go both north and south on US 9W! :wow:
2. This arrow points to a small parking lot. There is a street nearby that NY 218 turns on to, but it's hidden by a building and is nearly invisible.

Reminds me of the old Cheech and Chong skit from Los Cochinos about dog...you know...

Well there are places where the sign is not parallel to the actual stop bar. There's one intersection here where the stop sign is around a corner before the intersection, a full 4 car lengths before the stop bar.
^^ Valid point. But, in this case, if you stopped past the stop sign you'd be in the road.
Be well,
Bryant
I know, I'm just thinking maybe the stop bar used to be at a different place and they added that sign when they changed it.
^^ Well, they've widened both Fulton Industrial Boulevard (SR 70) and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive (SR 139), where the two highways intersect. The Wendy's is on the corner of the intersection.
Be well,
Bryant

eh, anyone that has had a championship in the last 15 years or so is ineligible to complain.
I moved to Boston in 1986, after the last Celtics championship and just in time for the Sox/Mets incident... so I know what it is like to be in a drought.
Oddly, I moved out in May '04 - saw a couple of Patriots Super Bowls but for the Red Sox, I was definitely the motivating factor that turned their luck around ;)

Im sure this is REAL funny for any USC fan
Cause theres this thing that UT has mutiple times (almost all the time) and it's called VICTORY!!!!
Oddly, I don't remember UT going to the championship game last year... :-D

I think his point is that USC is recent epic fail capital of college football, coming so close so many times. Go Buckeyes.
"Teh" Ohio State has been blown out by SEC teams twice in the last five years in the NC game.
As for the Texas/U$C game, the only way I would enjoy that game is if the middle of the football field split open and both teams were swallowed by the earth.
Why can't they make football like The Price Is Right and come up with a way for both teams to lose?

The Colonel, half-hiding behind the lamppost, appears deranged at the possibility of "NEW VALUE MEN".
This is sort of both an oddity and an error. Here the sign for SR 616 is pointing towards a field east of VA 156 instead of pointing the right direction west of VA 156(and after a secret multiplex with VA 156 right down the road SR 616 actually does go east of VA 156 with all arrows pointing in the right direction). I thought VDOT would have fixed it awhile ago being near a high school but it was still like this as of Tuesday.

Notice the street sign above the yield sign. It's actually named for a World War II flying ace, Major Richard Bong, but it's quite understandable why anyone would do a double-take when seeing it (as I did–I learned of the name's origin when we were touring the museum and saw his name mentioned).

I'm surprised we don't see pictures of UK tourists under those signs the way we do with them in Fucking, Austria,

Don't know if any of these were posted (there are a lot of broken images in this thread--I did read the whole thing before posting.)
Here are some I'm familiar with:
This (https://www.flickr.com/photos/bienvenunet/16837917762/) is two separate destinations, not some sort of religious farm.
Don't let this sign (https://www.google.com/maps/@31.725466,-93.153868,3a,37.5y,329.72h,98.01t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sTnbHdvi9_n3GI3fMemqo5g!2e0?hl=en) fool you; there's only one of them.
If I ever write a fantasy novel, I'm naming my heroine this (https://www.google.com/maps/@30.65503,-87.921304,3a,75y,77.58h,88.12t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1suobrx2Bh5hcQfQHEUmh6JQ!2e0?hl=en).
Actually, one sub-hobby of mine in roadgeeking is finding exit signs whose town names sound like a first and last name.
Like... Beverly Carneiro.

In a different but similar vein, there is a restaurant called "Chingon Pollo" opening in Arlington County, Virginia:
http://wtop.com/arlington/2015/03/restaurant-with-questionable-spanish-name-opening-on-glebe-road/
Quote"Chingon" is a Spanish slang term that is often used as a compliment, but it's a conjugation of the verb "chingar," which in Mexico roughly translates to the English profanity that begins with "F." ARLnow.com asked a Spanish speaker how she would interpret the name "Chingon Pollo."
"Chingar is to f-ck and -on means real big "˜ol, so literally "˜real big ol f-cker' but figuratively like "˜big f-cking' something," she said, declining to be identified. The whole name could mean "like a f-ckload of chicken, or possibly really hardcore badass chicken, but more literally a f-ckload."
