According to Google Maps, old NZ 1 has become NZ 59. I wonder how long that designation will last? A portion of old NZ 1 north of Auckland was designated NZ 17 from 1999 until 2012, when it was decommissioned: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_Highway_17_(New_Zealand). At least Google Maps has been updated to include the Transmission Gully Motorway.
