Been buying some old Rand McNally road atlases from the 1930's to 60's. Just wondering what year was it when all federal highways were finally paved. Either asphalt or concrete?

Per Wikipedia, there was a segment of US 183 in South Dakota that was not paved until 1967.
I remember road atlases from the 1960s showing a route in northern Nebraska (maybe US 183) being unpaved. I think they also showed little stretches of US 25 in South Carolina as unpaved. But someone told me that in 1995, the route that runs south of Natchez, Mississippi, was still unpaved.

US 25 in South Carolina was fully paved by 1932.
1961 Rand McN shows US 281 in South Dakota with an unpaved stretch. Shows US 183 paved everywhere. However, the 1962 Nebraska Official (https://dot.nebraska.gov/media/6886/nebraska-1962.pdf) shows a bunch of US 183 as still gravel.
The only way any US route was unpaved in 1995 is if it was under construction and a gravel roadway was all that was available through the construction zone, which I experienced on US 76 in Georgia in the late 1980s. US 61 south of Natchez was starting to be 4-laned on the 1983 historic aerial.
The entire routing of the Yellowstone Trail in Wisconsin (it later became parts of several WI and US highways) was concrete paved by 1928.

The last of US Route in California that wasn't paved was US 466 in Rocky Canyon near Creston. The segment was never paved and US 466 was realigned to the new alignment of CA 41 in 1958. What US 466 in Rocky Canyon was eventually abandoned and became a trail through a quarry.

Yeah, I typed South Dakota. I meant Nebraska. :pan:
If we're talking temporary construction zones, as of of a month ago, there are several miles of unpaved construction zone on US 12/287 in Montana east of Helena.

The little green shrub was gone as of a few years ago.
I remember being on an unpaved section of US 93 SE of Challis, ID back in the summer of 1978. It wasn't being repaired or anything. It was about five miles of unpaved road. (No idea of the actual length. I wasn't driving. But it went on for several minutes.) I don't know when it was finally paved but it was weird coming across an unpaved section of US highway in 1978.

I've been on this road, back in 2004, by which time the road was paved. I wonder if the road was realigned when they paved it?
I checked Google Earth & there appears to be a stretch of Old US 93 South of Challis, ID, that was bypassed & never paved.
EDIT: According to Historic Aerials, this stretch had already been bypassed by 1965.

I remember something similar in on US 89 coming into UT from ID. I think around Garden City in the mid 80s. I was a passenger in the back seat though.
