I'm working on a project where it is proposed to replace an existing highway bridge with a "through girder." Back in the day, this was a slab-sided monstrosity you'd typically see as a railroad trestle. But when I saw the plans, in fact the girders are trusses, making this sort of a pony truss overpass. The question is, where else today are there newly built or proposed trusses for just a simple highway overpass?
(There aren't even that many historically, as usually the truss would also pass over a river or railyard. One example I'm familiar with is the old West Side Highway, which had truss overpasses for certain cross streets.)
I don't know about that, but I can show you a SPUI with a suspension bridge.

It is just west of Columbus IN, at the junction of I-65 and IN-46.
