Last October, MoDOT closed the Quaker Mill Bridge over the Spring River near Purcell after failing inspection. In May, construction began on a replacement bridge with June 30th the scheduled completion date.
It was announced earlier this week the new bridge would open July 24, but now the date has been pushed back to July 27. Reason: the asphalt isn't setting up because of the heat.
Is it simply the heat or is MoDOT in too big a hurry to get this done?
