Moving along to the 21st Century, we no longer use the parking meters, but either have a box like this or pay by phone.
What cities near you have moved along with technology?
Chicago has one very creatively named ParkChicago.
Massachusetts seems to have several different ones, even within 5 miles. It seems like each municipality can choose which one to use (the apps are much more widespread than just that municipality, but it does mean that you'll need several apps), and the MBTA commuter rail stations have one that doesn't match the municipal ones. However, the apps are usually not the only option, just one of several options.
Flowbird is used in multiple cities in NY.
I've used the apps in Duluth, MN and Portland, ME.

They must have stolen that from Salt Lake City, which has one named...umm, ParkSLC. :)
DC uses Parkmobile, as does Arlington County, Virginia. I've found it reliable whenever I've used it.
I don't use them in my immediate area but I look into this before traveling someplace. On trips to South Florida I have used PayByPhone (https://www.paybyphone.com/locations) quite a bit, and they seem to have agreements with quite a few cities as shown in that link.
