Title: I-64 Bridge Replacement Project in Franklin County (Kentucky)

I'm glad they're doing this but I guess KDOT doesn't yet have the funding to just go ahead and just widen I-64 to six lanes for that segment?

Yeah, funding for three lanes is not yet available. However the bridges are being built wide enough to accommodate three lanes in the future.

FYI: This project is well underway with several of the bridges almost done. The article shared is from last year.

Louisville to the Mountain Parkway as it is expected that the highway will fall below acceptable levels of service in the future: https://bit.ly/3Po8FsD, but active or committed projects are listed under ES-12 (this document is several years old).
