I dont know if this has been posted before but we often discuss numbering and here are all the approvals and disapprovals.
My Favorite is 1989 Illinois asked for I-37 for what was later I-155

I-155 seems too short and not important enough for 2di status. And why duplicate the existing Texas I-37?

Maybe they planned on eventually connecting them?
