Sorry for the short notice, but I'll be passing through DC the evening of Monday 11/7. As with last time, I'm extending an open invitation for dinner to anyone who's intererested.
I will not rule this out yet. It could give me an excuse to check out the I-66 HOT Lanes.
I'd love to meet some folks in person, but I will be out of town on business. Thanks for the invitation, though.
I'm down for dinner in DC on 11/7
I will be there.
Thtee suggested possible venues.
1. Chef Mikkos's R Street, NW between 16th and 17th. Nordic menu.
2. Taqueria Poblano in the Del Ray area of Alexandria.
3. In the wilds of eastern Montgomery County, Pepinos in Burtonsville.
The Alexandria option would probably be best for me if I chose to attend.
I second Chef Mikko's
If I lived there I'd third Mikko's (:
Would like to hear from the MDRoads crew and Mike Tantillo before figuring out a location.
I might be game, depending on the location.
We're in! I would love to do Chef Mikko but logistically Pepino's in Burtonsville is better.

I would probably have to bail on I-66 if we ate anywhere in MD, but I can check out other stuff instead. I can do I-66 on the way to my parents' house.
Someone has reached out to me that is interested, but cannot do Mexican. I am open to other suggestions. Thinking we should also push this later into the evening so that we avoid the worst of rush hour in getting there, especially for those coming from further away.
Pepino's in Burtonsville is Italian. That works for me.
Well it looks like now that I will be doing I-66 later this week so eating in MD should not be an issue.
Unless I hear a compelling reason otherwise, I would think Pepino's at 7pm should work.
Would like to get a head-count so I can call in a reservation.
I think it is safe to say that I am in.
Count me in.
One problem - Pepino's is closed on Mondays :(
Oddly enough I just found a restaurant along MD 198 in Burtonsville called "Restaurant 198". One of the reviews showed a potential staffing issue though.
How about the Silver Diner in Greenbelt?
While we continue the restaurant debate, I am still likely in, but I did want to mention that I have been sick all week. I think I am down to mainly a case of minor bronchitis, but I realize that I have not mentioned it here yet.
Much as I like the idea of Silver Diner, I don't think they'd be able to accommodate a group larger than 5-6.
Right now, I'm leaning towards Nando's Peri-Peri at their Laurel location.
If there's no objections, I'm going to go ahead with Nando's Peri Peri at their Laurel location, around 7pm.

Seems fine with me.
Thank you everyone for coming this evening! The kids certainly provided entertainment. Sorry, Oscar that I didn't get down to your side much.
I really need to get up to a DC-area Nando’s to see how it compares to the ones in the motherland. I brought a bottle of lemon & herb sauce back from South Africa, where it’s sold in grocery stores.
Alas, yesterday I was recovering and unpacking from said trip.
