Title: Searching for (freeway-over) SPUI with shortest bridge (total length and spans)
Post by: johndoe on November 15, 2022, 10:21:48 PM
Hello everyone, I'm searching for (freeway-over) SPUI with shortest bridge (total length and spans).  Of course the "inside" (left on/off) version of SPUI doesn't count for this  :spin:

Example: (Virginia) https://www.google.com/maps/@36.8558391,-76.2102446,298m/data=!3m1!1e3
total bridge length is around 475' and the spans seem to be 125', 225', and 125'.

Example 2: (Wisconsin) https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0154851,-89.4725887,136m/data=!3m1!1e3
total bridge length is around 330' and the spans seem to be 165', 165'.  (This is kind of interesting too as I'm not aware of other two-span SPUI ...know of more?)

Who can find the shortest example?  Thanks!

I-170 at MO 180 (https://goo.gl/maps/x2uLzLcbgwdkgXAF8) in the St. Louis area could be a contender for shortest span, (maybe around 120 feet? (https://goo.gl/maps/RSoQLtZLeRCdUPiL) but the overall bridge length appears to be around 460 feet.

EDIT:  Probably not the shortest, but to save others time from looking them up:

* Harlan Drive (former NE 370) at Fort Crook Road in the Omaha area (https://goo.gl/maps/KxcyuBWY6bDQW94w5):  single span of  (https://goo.gl/maps/dardtUF6L3U3NTKu7) around 200 feet.

* US 40 at US 61-67 in the St. Louis area (https://goo.gl/maps/e2gn5RThkaAbadD67)  Single span (https://goo.gl/maps/jTfNZLGa1pcSkJVU7) with the longest section being around 235 feet.

* I-72/US 36 at US 61 in Hannibal, MO (//http://):  Appears to have a total length around 310 feet with the middle span being around 150 feet.

Couple half SPUIs in Vancouver, BC have pretty short lengths:

Mary Hill Bypass just east of the Hwy 1 interchange: https://www.google.com/maps/@49.2280884,-122.8193732,86m/data=!3m1!1e3
Bridge length is around 125'

Hwy 99 in South Surrey over 32nd Ave Diversion: https://www.google.com/maps/@49.0615441,-122.8050225,186m/data=!3m1!1e3
Bridge length is around 85'

The Hillandale Road/Fulton Street interchange on the Durham Freeway (NC-147) has a tight squeeze for the SPUI beneath the freeway.  The bridge for the northbound lanes is about 205 feet long, and the bridge for the southbound lanes is about 210 feet long.
