Ugh. I enjoyed watching Detective Munch on Homicide and SVU over the years. RIP.

I read somewhere yesterday that he had played Munch on 10 different shows. I know "Homicide," L&O," and "L&O: SVU." I'm unaware of the others, or why one particular detective would cross over to so many different series.

Munch was actually mentioned on last week's episode of SVU.

See, I had a partner years ago, an old homicide detective. He had the same exact defense mechanism... He retired. I guess he just ran out of gas. Last I heard, he moved back to Baltimore. Met a divorced female rabbi. And he bought back his old cop bar. It's 1:30 a.m. He's probably cracking a joke to some barfly. That skinny bastard had a punchline for every second of the day.

There also was a clear parody of him on Sesame Street.

Cue Tim Brown. (This is one place where the forum could really use a tagging feature, in case bandit doesn't see this thread.)

Kind of a shame The Simpsons couldn't work an appearance by "Munch" in over the years.

RIP indeed.

A private message should work.

I believe the rules for PMs on this forum is five per day per person (you'll be prevented by the software from doing more, but I don't know how "day" is defined), admins can disable it (like they did for tolbs17), and they're truly private (even staff can't see them or even know that they went out).
