This reminds me of the Creek Turnpike signs with the hastily added OK 364 shields that don't look right. They've been making ugly signs for longer than some of you have been alive.

This would have been at the present-day I-44/I-235 interchange, on I-235, looking south. The bridge that was being built in the picture was demolished in the last couple of years.
But yeah, ugly Oklahoma signs are a tradition that goes back nearly a century.

This section of I-240 was renumbered to I-44 in 1982, so it would have to be before then.

Late 60's was when the original bridge was built. I believe this photo was when it was redecked in the early 80's
