Title: While the family's at Legoland…
Post by: Sub-Urbanite on March 31, 2023, 08:18:01 PM
My family is going to Legoland and I think I have a green light to skip this event. Question is, how far can I reasonably travel while they're at the theme park?

Ideally, I want to head east to El Centro, then back via Anza-Borrego, stoping for a hike at ABSP, probably at Borrego Palm Canyon, then return via (I presume) SR 76 (or should I take SR 79?)

Anyway, I think this requires two bits of information:

- How long will a family be entertained at Legoland
- How long of a drive am I setting myself up for if I drop them off when Legoland opens?

Legoland can be an all-day thing depending on how old your kids are. Assuming they spent 8 hours there, you could easily get all the way out to the El Centro and back. You're probably looking at 4 to 5 hours of driving based on your proposed route.
