The Congressman associated with our favorite Interstate number, I-99, has died. Bud Shuster represented Pennsylvania's 9th district from 1973 to 2001.
(Poster note: figured that Off-topic is best place since not directly related to roads and highways)
He will never be dead as long as I-99 lives in our hearts.

And now he's rubbing it in John Murtha's face on the other side.

Dang it. I was hoping he could have lived to 99...

What does that make I-238 fans then?

I-238 has fans?
I like it. I didn't even know it existed when my family came across it on a road trip in 1990. Rand McNally hadn't marked it well on their Bay Area inset map back then and we thought it was just a spur of I-580 until we saw the I-238 shields. Good memory.

I saw it on maps first, not knowing the details, and assuming Rand McNally's proofreaders had missed an obvious mistake.
Question is will the gap between I-80 and Williamsport be filled before his grandchildren pass on?
He was known as the King of Asphalt, a nickname that is fitting and that he wore proudly.

Let's face it though I-97 is another waste of a number. It should be I-995.

As I-238's biggest fan, I can confirm I-238 has many fans.
I'm a fan of the chaos I-238 brings. If for no other reason the number alone makes a boring Bay Area freeway interesting. It's hard to stack the likes of I-97 and I-99 to the true anomaly that is I-238.

Most people don't care what number a highway bears, they just want it to take them where they need to go.

Or it was a copyright trap.
