Title: Erroneous road markings
Post by: CovalenceSTU on May 05, 2023, 09:00:31 PM
I searched and scrolled back a few years but couldn't find any topics for this: Erroneous road markings. Whether it's contractors who didn't get the memo, old markings that were never removed, or just things that make you go "WTF is that?", if the road markings don't match what is going on (barring construction/temporary changes) post it here!

Here's two to start the thread:

OR-202 / US-101 Business, Astoria, OR (https://goo.gl/maps/AkN7mXoDQT2xCJ2M9): there is no straight direction in this roundabout. Probably a contractor goof when it was added 8 years ago but they keep repainting it.

14th Av, Longview, WA (https://goo.gl/maps/bSVSDFcgvZaFWEE26): parts of the road were narrowed from 3 lanes to 2 but the dots still remain.

Crossposting a post from "erroneous road signs" made today to here (can't delete the other one because it's been quoted):

From humorist Dave Barry's blog today:  The French village of BaunĂ© painted crisscrossed road line markings at a main intersection in an effort to reduce traffic speed.  (His comment:  "This would have no effect on Florida drivers.")
