Post by: texaskdog on June 03, 2023, 10:13:22 AM
Saw this on Wurzbach in San Antonio last weekend.

PASS = Principal Arterial Street System

Apparently it's the only highway in the state to be signed like this. According to the Texas Highway Man, it was signed since 2014.

Field signage or GTFO.

It's obviously a Pennsylvanian state highway. It's not like PA highways in non-PA states haven't been a thing before (https://goo.gl/maps/hDroHNtpNNAs2c9EA).

I am unsure how to respond to that shield's existence.

The easy reaction is to be baffled. Especially when it's not alone (https://goo.gl/maps/KMpit6yMiGFHa1746).

My word.  WV just wanted to have a fancy shield shape compared to their standard ones, I suppose.  How bizarre.

There was also a PA 31 shield on US 31 in Michigan in 2017, but I don't wanna go through 6 years of AARoads Facebook posts to find it. Needless to say, the keystone gets around.

Back in the heyday of MTR, Richie Kennedy (US56) had discovered an Ohio 400 shield where Kansas was to have used an US shield.
Signage errors occur all over the place.

Oh yeah, and from what I've heard, while they were replaced, one of the OH 400 shields was put back up a few years later (though it was once again replaced).

And how could we forget the Alabama shields in Massachusetts?

We're getting way off topic, though.
