Andy, Justin, Brent, Matt, Kevin, Carter, and I are sitting on a huge backlog of photos that go back to 2003. We pretty much have photos from just about every state. The question is, what do we add next?
The states in white are those without any photos (DE, NV and UT should be yellow as well now)
When I go about updating the site, its pretty much based upon whatever motivates me or what area of the country interests me the most at the time. Thats not to say that I cannot switch to a different area or state at any time, but its more of my personal interest or what's new in roads than anything else that results in page updates and additions. So my question is, what would you like to see updated next or the most, or what areas that are not presently covered on the sites would you like to see added in a future update?
Personally I'd love to see some Washington photos around Seattle. Last time I checked, the guides only went to Olympia on Interstate 5. I'd love to see downtown Seattle.
Now that Virginia's fairly well taken care of ;) I can't really think of anything else thats not already covered that I think really needs to be.
Fine, Washington. :P
How about starting Canada's road system? But I guess that defeats the point of "AA".

We do have a Europe section, but its partially missing from a server crash. So AARoads is not limited to just the U.S. as a rule.
The AA in AAroads actually stands for All About. You can access the website from the domain http://www.allaboutroads.com
New York could see a few more things. More coverage of the Tallahassee, FL area maybe? Ummm... Mississippi too perhaps? Can't think of much else at the moment.

Well Matt recently sent us a new page for Interstate 5 northbound in Oregon between Eugene and Clackamas County (http://www.westcoastroads.com/oregon/i-005nd_or.html). I've added that tonight. He plans on extending coverage northward to Seattle at some point.
Andy and I also have a ton of photos from the Seattle area from our September 2006 trip marinating in the queue too.

I have more NYC, Albany, Syracuse, Finger Lakes, Binghamton, Kingston, Northway sitting on external harddrives.
Tons more Tallahassee too, and recent trips to Mississippi covering U.S. 90, Interstate 55, and back roads.
Washington would be cool, it is very undercovered. IMO you should work on the states and highways not covered much, like most of I-75 north of Tampa or Arkansas or Idaho.

I have a lot of I-75 to go through north of Tampa picwise. Idaho I have I-84 east from OR to Boise, then ID-55 north and I-90 west and stuff from Wallace among other stuff.
Justin has some stuff covering I-540 from Arkansas and maybe a few other odds and ends. I've not taken a road pic in Arkansas in years personally...

Was just on Interstate 59 through Hattiesburg two weekends ago in horrible rain. Thats it for me. Andy however took all of Interstate 20 from Atlanta to west Texas last Summer and photographed westbound through Meridian and maybe the approaches to the I-20/59 merge (will have to check the h/d's).
I've been on I-20 from Birmingham to Meridian at the I-20/I-59 split. Was impressed with Meridian's frontage road system, which I know exists many other places down there. We don't get that too much here in New York, but we should. :-P

Frontage roads are very common in Texas, and have spread eastward in a few areas (Louisiana, Jackson, MS, Mobile, AL). Unfortunately they are conduits to sprawl if development is not controlled, which is definitely the case along I-65's roads in Mobile and I-55's in Jackson.
Our problem here is that we have the whole sprawl issue, but unlike the south, we have inadequate roads to handle all that comes with it.

Went to Baton Rouge the first weekend of this month. Mainly hung around the city and Port Allen before heading north along U.S. 61 to rain drenched Natchez...
More Upstate NY, if you have the pics. I noticed you guys started coverage of I-88. Thanks!
Carter and I took all of Interstate 88 in 2005, and the coverage I began was with the help of Jack Thomas. Andy and I revisited the Capital District and took all of the Northway northbound in summer 2007. Anyone want to help us out with captions?
As for last time, I can certainly help again. :)
Oh wow, I didn't even recognize you *facepalm*! We have a ton more Capital District stuff should you be interested in helping again. The last trip involved more than just the Interstates too, as we messed around with New York 85, U.S. 9, the Dunn Memorial Bridge, the Northway spur south of Interstate 87/90, etc. :spin:
One place that will need to be updated is in GA - the I-75/I-475/Hartley Bridge Road Interchange - it is going a major redesign with collector/distributor roads, and widening from 3 to 5 lanes south of the interchange. It is still under construction - probably will be completed in 2010.
You mean this interchange?

Photo taken 12/20/08
On a trip up to Delaware for the holidays we drove through the construction zone for this project. The new loop on-ramp for Hartley Bridge Road (Exit 155) is already open to traffic and the main lines of northbound I-75 are temporarily using the new c/d portion until new northbound lanes are constructed. Once finished, one will be able exit from Hartley Bridge Road onto a c/d road and can access I-475 northbound before merging onto I-75 northbound. This project will alleviate weaving between the two interchanges.
Yeah - they are moving the southbound lanes over tonight onto the c/d road.
I would really like to fix the Europe section, I need to find it - it's on a CD around here somewhere

I would love to work on Canada, I have a bunch of Montreal and Quebec City photos (from 2007) and a few very rainy ones from in between the two cities. I guess it's just a matter of getting a) photos that are good and b) someone to contribute them. So many Canadian road photos I see are going right into the sun so you can't read any of the signs or have inexplicable bug splats on them. I've been to BC, AB, and Quebec but I don't recall seeing *that* many bugs.
My MapArt atlas is basically my favorite thing in the whole world besides the dog. I'd love to see all of Ontario's 400-series roads on aaroads.
I noticed that part of I-30 in Arkansas has been done, from Texarkana to Caddo Valley (Exit 78). I'd like to see the remainder of I-30, along with the rest of Arkansas' interstates, posted.

I noticed that some gaps in California have not been mentioned. There is good coverage of the freeway standard roads in the central valey, but what about getting in some pics of the non freeway highways (CA 43, 41, 46, 198, more CA 65, 269) Also, some of theses roads along with CA 58 go through the coast ranges to 101, what about covering those sections of road too?
Andy is always working on California. Right now he is adding more Los Angeles freeway coverage (mainly non-Interstate freeways). Last updates were on the 91.
I would love to see the 14 freeway in california updated!! All the way from Sylmar to Mojave

I have so many photos for the Interstate 95 corridor that it makes my head spin. I just got my laptop back from the repair shop and I'm trying to tie up loose ends (photos that were in my in progress folder before the crash) before resuming on Justin's Texas material (I-410, US 281, TX 121, I-35W) and then moving forward on some of the requests here. I-95 southbound
I-75 southbound
Both in Flarrida.
How about Oklahoma?
For me it's all California all the time for the forseeable future. Probable schedule would be CA 91 and finally wrapping up I-10 in California... for those who have been following my progress, it's taken me months to get all of I-10 completed. You can see progress all around the East Los Angeles interchange. After CA 91, I'll probably replace photos in and around the Port, including I-710, CA 47, and CA 103. There might be some photo replacement work for I-110 too.
Regarding Central California Highways, I have photos of CA 198 and CA 41 ... but I have not posted many of them yet (mostly from 2005). I also have a bunch of US 101 northbound photos that I'd like to add in order to replace the existing 2001 pictures (that suck).
I also have photos from Wyoming 2008 that should get online soon as well.

We have more of Interstate 40 east from Arizona to Albuquerque, and Interstate 25 north from Rio Rancho to the Colorado state line. I added all of Andy's Albuquerque material last summer.
Also Kevin says he will be working on adding more Interstate 10 material in the near future. I'm unsure as to what else he has, but he does get to NM somewhat often.

I can't wait. Although I plan on going on a trip through several states to get to New Mexico again. Would you mind photos of a few U.S. Federal Highways and several State Routes. I know you guys are mainly interested in Interstates which is understandable but I'm more into state routes myself.
We are not confined to just create pages on Interstates, it just happens to be the roads we take more often than not on new trips. The idea is to clinch as many new Interstates first, then return later to cover other roads. I've done most of the Interstates in the southeast and northeast now, that I tend to take U.S. and State highways more often. Throw in county collecting and it takes us even further away from the Interstates.
Photos are welcomed if they come with captions/descriptions.

I see. Yes I could come up with captions/descriptions. The trip is going to be in the summer but I will get you the photos/captions.
If you are referring to other websites, I liked to do that, but pages change so often, its hard to keep track of them all. If you have some in mind that should be linked, send me a list.
All of Carter's Interstate 75 photos for Kentucky are now online. New pages for southbound from Cincinnati to Georgetown (https://www.aaroads.com/southeast/i-075sa_ky.html) are now online. This leaves me with photos from Interstate 275 and 471.
Honestly, I would love to see a new guides for Seattle and also for Hartford, which has one of the most underrated/overused road systems in the country, Metro Hartford has a population of about 1.2 million people that use two interstate highways, two spurs two US routes, and countless state roads.
I was actually hoping you go back to Ohio to get pictures on freeways in which the freeway signs are replaced as well as other interstates, if you have the time.

I will have to upload some more NM photos, as well as photos from my latest trip to Alaska in March of this year, and my Montana photos from Dec 2007.
The New England area doesn't seem to have very much coverage at all, just the interstates and a few major corridors. If you would like, I have photos of various northeast stuff I can provide.
One thing you could do is add more of the pics from I-75 between Pasco, Hernando, and Sumter Counties that I've showed off in the past. I've even got some New York pics. And yes, I even had some non-interstate pics.
Perhaps you coukd ask Kevin Trinkle to make guides for some of the State Highways on Oahu + Maui & the Big Island

I am pleased to see more Indiana pictures last year, and I have some pictures of other highways not covered in that collection, particularly the rest of the South Bend/Elkhart bypass from Elkhart westward to the Toll Road, I-69 in the Fort Wayne area, the Muncie Bypass, SR 37 from Indianapolis to Bedford, the Lloyd Expressway and I-164 in Evansville, as well as any other Indianapolis area picture you need.
