Episode 2.02 of the podcast is up. This covers Route 1 in Los Angeles county, from Long Beach through the Northern end of Malibu. We'll cover the history of the routing through Long Beach, Lomita, Redondo, the Beach Cities, LAX, Westchester, Port Ballona/Marina Del Rey, Venice and Santa Monica, the infamous Battle of Malibu. They'll be mentions of my favorite summer camps. We'll talk about the remarkable freeway plans for the route in Torrance, the South Bay, the Santa Monica Bay, and Malibu. We'll talk about naming along the route, and some of the plans. A really, really interesting episode.

Ready, set, discuss.
I noticed a couple of references to "Gavoita" (gah-voy-tah) that should be "Gaviota" (gah-vee-oh-tah) -- this will come up more in the next episode.
You wouldn't believe how hard it was to even find a sample of how that is properly pronounced.
