Can someome tell me if any portion of CA 79 S between Temecula and Ocotillo involves winding mountain roads? Thanjks.

CA 79 does, at least in the portions that get you towards Ocotillo before County Route S2. CA 79 will have you end up at I-8 and not Ocotillo.
