ARDOT has scheduled the replacement of the AR-23 Mulberry River pony truss with another pony truss immediately downstream. I can't think of the last time ARDOT did anything unique like this with bridges in the modern era to keep a historical configuration for a bridge.

I'll have to take a trip down there when the new bridge is done to get a side-by-side photo before the OG bridge is demolished. Glad to see ARDOT doing justice to this historic piece. It would have been cool if they did something like this for the old green bridge at Pruitt, though in their defense the pony truss at Turner Bend is a lot more simplistic than its Buffalo River counterpart.
