What specific business (store or restaurant chain) seems to be everywhere in your town to the point of overkill?
In my neck of the woods with area population about 100k, hands down is Starbucks. Not only are they in all 7 Safeway and City Market/Kroger stores, but there are at least 10-15 stand-alone stores woth 2 more under construction in the area. Some of the stand-alones are practically across from the grocery store locales. Total overkill.
For the record, I'm not a coffee drinker.
In a distant 2nd place: Dollar General.
There are so many car washes around here it's pretty ridiculous. There was even a local story about it on the news.

For a named business, Dunkin Donuts.
For a type of business, Lawrence has a whole bunch of multiservices, car repairs, mini grocery stores that sometimes call themselves restaurants even though they really aren't, and beauty salons. This doesn't apply in the suburbs.
There are already three 7-Eleven convenience stores open in my town, a fourth under construction and a fifth that's open just across the city line.
Dunkin Donuts by far. My town has 3 of them.
Whereas here in Fresno it is a Dunkin' Donuts free environment. How very contrary to how things are out east.
My town has three Subways and a bunch of chains with two locations (McDonalds, Burger King, Wawa, Taco Bell, Wendy's, CFA, CVS, Dollar Tree, and some gas stations, among others). Most common business is convenience store, both with and without gas stations.
Kwik Trip
Looks like 24 Starbucks, 15 Subway, and 12 McDonald's in Aurora. Only 5 Dunkin' for you east coasters.
Starbucks and CVS.
Thinking "Greater" Amsterdam (NY), bringing in both the City and Town of Amsterdam (so including Hagaman and Fort Johnson), we have 5 Stewart's Shops. We are at 3 Dunkin' Donuts. Can't think of anything else over 2. We just got our second Starbucks which is the first standalone. The one inside one of the stores (Target?) has been there a long time.

I'd concur with this for my city. There were 3 of them on the same road within 2.5 miles, until the northern most closed. It got replaced in another location about 1/2 mile west - but across the line into the next city limits. There's several others around in my city.
Walmart.
SuperCenters, Neighborhood Markets, convenience stores, and many other concepts they trial in NWA before deciding whether to blow out to other markets.

Although, not nationwide chain, but local, Fred's Market is prevalent in Lakeland, FL for dining.
It's got good home southern cooking that makes it noticeable.
We have two Dollar General stores, the most of any chain store.
But next-door Estill County has five DGs.

Yeah, this.
Including the only one I'm aware of that doesn't have a gas station. (https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0699795,-89.4093383,3a,75y,158.89h,98.39t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sleFrAufgjB6RqW8ZpwLJQw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?hl=en&coh=205409&entry=ttu)
It's right by Camp Randall Stadium.
MSP is probably Caribou Coffee, which while I don't drink a lot of coffee I find them to be about 10 astronomical units better than Starbucks, so that's fine with me. Holiday gas stations would be on there as well.
We have three Royal Farms for about 16,000. Of course, that's not a nationwide chain unless you consider greater Baltimore the entire country or world.
Dunkin Donuts. At this point have three standalone locations, plus five more in gas stations. Two of those gas station ones you can see one of the standalone ones from it. Eight total for 31,000 people.
Of multiple things of note...
Mobil - 4
Petroil - 3 (of note this is a gas station that only has 3 locations)
Burger King - 2

Didn't count any Holiday or successor stores due to recent bankruptcies. Also, did not include any suburbs like Altoona or Lake Hallie etc.
