Unbelievable. How this kind of stuff makes it as it is totally ridiculous.
That bridge is no more the Brooklyn Bridge than Florida being larger than Texas.
Somebody sold them a bill of goods.
Just a bunch of spambot posts. Nothing remarkable, just groan and move on.
It's an AI generated fail. The poeple that fail to look at details and take everything at face value will fall for it.
I definitely would not have known this if not for you bridge experts around here.
That photo is of the Manhattan Bridge.
EDIT: Not Manhattan Bridge but some AI fakery attempting to blend features of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges.
I posted a photo of the real Manhattan Bridge in this thread.
Obviously a very fake image, but I did gave me a thought that a bridge that combined the designs of the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges might look pretty nice.
Looks like photogrammetry, i.e. Google Earth or Microsoft Azure modeling.
I think this is funny. It's not a scam for money ( I don't think) but it looks professional . Like a tourist company showing off New York, but the person running it is a total moron.
It be like promoting New York to be nice and passing off One World Trade Center as the Empire State Building.
The normals get road information wrong on social media all the time. When I see I try to spin it as an opportunity to steer traffic to our page.
People are gullible these days.

This one seems on the up and up.
I use "seems" as I'm skeptical of course. However, I enjoy the photo though as I love a good photo no matter what.
The real Manhattan Bridge.

I took this in May from a Circle Line cruise boat.
So as everyone else is saying there's some funky AI fakery going on.
Yes that's real. :sombrero:
However, I'm amazed another tall skyscraper is built next to it considering that area is more classic and not been zoned for office real estate.
Shows you how long I've been to the city.

So many new skyscrapers going up lately. Housing for the rich.

This is the Brooklyn Bridge
Uncannily awful-looking cars add to the fakery.
It's more amazing when you're on it

This shows the difference.
I've noticed that recently on social media someone is posting NYC bridges, but with fake photos. Instead of posting real photos of these bridges( that are easy to find) they find fake pictures of other bridges and post them claiming to be that particular bridge.
There is no money being asked or products offered on these posts, so they can't be suckering folks for cash. So what's their angle? Unless it's a person thinking he is funny or has some sort of neurological disorder, it's crazy what people do these days.
AI bros using AI because they don't have anything better to do with their lives.
Quote from: formulanone on July 12, 2024, 07:22:57 PMDidn't you cover this in a separate thread two weeks ago?
Perhaps it could be merged into that.
Normals don't care about accuracy in highway social media posts.
Threads merged.
@roadman65, please take care not to create more than one thread on the same topic.
As for why they're doing this...they're probably just happy they got the image to come out as well as it did and they want to share their "work". (Having messed around with stuff like this, there is a little bit of an "art" to futzing around with what you type into it and adjusting settings until you get a result you like...but I think it's sort of silly to be so proud of it you feel the need to share it.)
