Announcing the 2025 Springfield, Illinois Road Meet.
The state capitol of Illinois, even if the government would rather be in Chicago. The home of Abraham Lincoln and the horseshoe sandwich. We will see various old and new roads around the area, including a brick road still extant. Oddball signage and signals, and even a quick visit to the home of IDOT. There's plenty of US-66 items to go around for those into the Mother Road.
If Winnipeg does move forward, I will work it around your meet. Question - would anyone want to see them on consecutive weekends so that you can plan a week's vacation between the two?
Somehow missed this thread.
There' a chance for me to have this as my first meet. I guess I'll have to wait a bit to really find out.
So...June 28th?

This for me largely depends on how long this event plans on taking place. I'd love to stay, and I already have the day reserved, so I'm for sure going now (first meet!), but I'm time constricted. I'll try to make arrangements so that it's an all-day thing for me, considering I can expect to be here for 3 hours plus my 90 minute trips here and back. Looking forward to going.

People "peel off" from meet tours all the time. Heck, some just show up for lunch (done this more than once myself) or an even shorter time.

We should be done somewhere around 5pm. Most meets have a lunch (I chose somewhere faster deliberately) followed by a tour. I usually aim for 4:30-5pm as a completion time as some want to get going and others want to stay and have some sort of dinner afterwards. As it it, I have 150 minute trip home after.

What's the plan for Lincoln Home? Park and walk to the home to see the exterior?

See the exterior and the streets restored to as they would have been in the 1850s. Bit of a contrast to the modern streets outside.
Be here by about 11:15 am.
