Scenic Road is a 1.5-mile street located in and around the city of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. The corridor was developed as part of a 1902 subdivision which formed the basis for the modern Carmel town plot. The routing of Scenic Road follows Carmel Bay from Ocean Avenue southward Mara Beach by the Carmel River. The street offers numerous coastal views, is free to use and aligned for southbound-only traffic.

The coastal parts do look pretty scenic, but I'm always instantly suspicious of any road where they have to force you to call it scenic by naming it that. Scenic Street in Springfield, MO has a rather lengthy section where it runs through an industrial area, for instance.
That fence in the first picture is as interesting as the road is.
Adding to my bucket list.
Given that it's along the coast, something like 'Marine', 'Coastal', 'Pacific', 'Ocean' would have been good alternatives for naming it to avoid the "is it really?" questions that 'Scenic' brings.
Ocean Avenue was already taken in Carmel. Nearby Pacific Grove has Ocean View Boulevard.

I did give several alternatives for that reason.
