Title: US 54 west of Wichita, KS
Post by: mgk920 on January 27, 2025, 02:42:15 PM
(apologies if this is already a thread). What is the status on upgrades to US 54 west of Wichita, KS (ie, the planned bypass of Greensburg, KS)?

All I know is there will be interchanges added at S. Millbrook Rd./S. 119th St. W., at S. 135th St. W., and at S. 151st St. W. (https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/e3c513fe363843a7be07be7a7c997d5d). Outside of that, I know nothing.

The bypass probably won't built until the 2030s at the earliest.

They recently built an RCUT at the intersection with North Crowne Drive in Goddard. AND, it's the first time I've seen Kansas paint one of those hatchmark boxes to discourage people from blocking an intersection, at the intersection of Crowne and the southern frontage road, which is very understandable when you look at it. (I can't seem to get the Google Maps app to give me a proper link for the map, but it's easy to find.)

EDIT: Oh yeah, here's the Google Maps link, so you don't have to go find it yourself: https://maps.app.goo.gl/SKjne3NBpBxLyCxW9
