KFC is moving its headquarters (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/kfc-moving-headquarters-from-kentucky-to-texas/) from Louisville to that of its sister chain Pizza Hut in Plano, Texas. Does this mean they're going to have to change their name?

They long ago ditched their association with "chicken" when they went with KFC. Why not ditch the "Kentucky" part too? It's like how Outback steakhouse is associated with Australia, but it's based in Tampa.
No more than Texas Roadhouse, which was founded in Clarksville, IN, and is based in Louisville, KY.

Maybe the two states can do a prisoner swap.
Or Boston Pizza being Canadian owned?

The ditched the association with
FRIED chicken. They always continued to have a strong association with chicken.
Why? It wasn't like Harlan Sanders was a real Colonel.
Its name hasn't had 'Kentucky' in it for more than three decades.
But I do believe that, in some other countries, the name either reverted to Kentucky Fried Chicken, or else it never changed. Not sure which.

And Texas Pete Hot Sauce was invented in Winston-Salem, NC.
There's also the AriZona Beverage Company, which is based in Woodbury, NY.
Plano Fried Chicken might result in some interesting new Asian flavors.

One of the closest ones to Québec, in Conway NH, closed about a decade ago but was a "Kentucky Fried Chicken" thru to the end. That is the only one in my sphere of knowledge that didn't rebrand to KFC when all the other locations did.
Remember Russ Beeler?
I just wonder what this will do regarding the naming rights to the KFC Yum! Center --- that big white elephant humpback-whale-looking building on the west side of the George Roger Clark Memorial Bridge (US 31, a/k/a 2nd Street Bridge) in downtown Louisville.

It's been 61 years.
Since my home state is represented in this topic, I would like to reiterate that Dairy Queen is NOT nor has never been a Texas-based chain like many people have been led to believe. It was born and based somewhere in the Great Plains region. DQ does have a special place in Texas culture with it's own menu and advertising exclusively in Texas and a location found in almost every town in the state (some sizable towns have plural locations within them).

There is a Burger Queen restaurant (https://burgerqueendrivein.com/), in Lakeview, Oregon. It doesn't seem to be part of a chain, or affiliated with any other Burger Queens that may be out there.

Followed by a run to Ace Hardware.
The Royal Flush of chains:
Jack In The Box, Dairy
Queen, Burger
King, and
Ace Hardware. Maybe they should all join forces and call the parent company: "Royal Flush"

If you drive on US-59 in a small town of Louise, Texas (between Victoria and Houston), there is an independent place there called "Dairy King" but it's a name of a convenience store, the fast food restaurant is actually a Chester's Chicken.

Similarly; Whataburger should merge with Lotaburger and form Whatalotaburger
Taco Bell should merge with McDonald's and call it Ron McDon's Taco Bell.

I remember when there was a Dairy King in Last Chance, CO. I'm trying to remember what they called their version of a Blizzard, but it's escaping me at the moment.

You still need a 10 to form a royal flush. Oklahoma has a chain of gyms called 10Gym, but I don't know if that really fits with the others thematically...

And speaking of Boston while they are almost defunct Boston Market's headquarters are in Pennsylvania.
There is (or used to be) a small chain called Burger Girl in the Metroplex. The most prominent store (to me) in Frisco next to Toyota Stadium didn't last. There was one in McKinney and one in Uptown Dallas too.
There is an unrelated Burger Girl Diner in Louisville. Ironically enough.

There's also the completely unrelated chains of Jack in the Box and Jack's, the latter of which is a local-ish fried chicken jain that operates primarily in Alabama (and is based in Birmingham) with a fair amount of locations in the surrounding states.
AFAIK, Jack's and Jack in the Box do not operate where the other operates.
