US 42 and 150 don't appear yet in the Louisville inset, while 31E takes a very different path from the current route along Bardstown Road (which here is US 168).

I love the map of Covington naming KY17 as the L.L.L. Highway. Locals still refer to portions of  17 as "3L". The more interesting fact is that the 3 L's stand for Lexington, Louisville, and Losantiville which is an archaic name proposed for Cincinnati.

Is that "US 168" on Jackson Highway in the lower right corner of the Louisville inset?

US 168 = US 150 between Louisville and Mt. Vernon. About 20 years ago I saw some old photos of the courthouse square in Bardstown with cutout US 168 shields posted (also US 31E and US 62).
