KYTC is building another RCUT, this time north of Henderson on US 41 at its intersection with Stratman Road and Wolf Hills Road.
As is the case with the two US 60/231 intersections where RCUTs will be built in Daviess County, this intersection has seen an increase in accidents in recent years.
Preliminary work is to begin this week, with completion set for October.

RCUTs (a/k/a Michigan Lefts?) are fine, but there needs to be more room for traffic to change lanes and decelerate than what I'm seeing in some of those photos.

I think it's going to be long enough. It looks closed-in on paper (or screen) but in practice it should be just fine.

It must be that there have been quite a few serious accidents at the Henderson location, since in a few years after the new I-69 bridge is in place this will no longer be a four lane divided highway approaching the bridge, but just two lanes.

They are like half of a Michigan Left.
Unlike a Michigan Left which eliminates of all left hand turns across traffic, RCUTs still has the primary road directly turning left onto the secondary road.
Personally once you add the pair of turn arounds, I don't really understand why they decided to add the center turn complication. Without this you can eliminate a traffic light entirely.
I also don't understand the need for the big bubbles opposite the turn arounds. Michigan has many MUTIs on two lane carriageways and none have these as there is plenty of space for a semi to turn into the right lane.

In the case of the ones being built NE of Owensboro, there isn't enough median width to do them without the "bubble" (they're called loons) to give semis room to make the turn.
Work began on this RCUT on March 6.
