Thought the decision is old as the Township of Mahwah in New Jersey decided this last year, it's sad that in an area of high demand for a hotel like this, that the hotel became abandoned in the first place.
For those of you unfamiliar with this structure, it's part of the skyline of the area where I-287 meets MSR 17 and the New York Thruway as the building stands 22 stories seen even from Suffern, NY.
Back in the eighties my friend Doug was reluctant to buy the brand new CD players as he said it wouldn't last as something else would replace it. Sure enough the internet came along allowing downloading of any song out there and forced the device obsolete. Ditto for the Blockbuster Video hype. When VCRs came out the video rental stores were it and it was a trend. Again the internet killed it.
What's new and popular today will sooner or later be forgotten and become dust. Although more like sooner, as this world has become more fast paced, it's a shame how a big hotel could become extinct and yet it's expected at the same time.
