Title: Anyone remember this sign on westbound Foothill Fwy (near Orange Fwy)

I wonder why it was taken down.

Sure, I remember that (and an older version) driving home from Claremont during a number of different gigs. If it's no longer there, I would guess it was struck by a vehicle.

Yeah, if you look at the March 2021 view you'll see the sign on the ground and one of the posts knocked over. It looks like the single post remained for a couple of years, even having a Speed Limit 55 sign for a while, but now that's gone as well.

Why would that section ever be signed 55? Was there construction going on?

probably.

I guess CalTrans is really slow to replace the sign; too many other priorities I guess.
