(I couldn't find an official name for it...)
Hello everyone! I'm from the pennsylvania-maryland-delaware area but am currently residing in North Carolina for college.
I think i first really started getting into roads once I started driving and becoming fascinated with how things connected together; travelling back and forth between multiple state lines every day certainly helped with that. Specifically, it was probably the enigma that is Maryland 591. State routes are certainly my favorite.
I've been keeping travel logs since late high school; most unfortunately were lost because Google Drive decided to delete my file instead of renaming it :banghead: but most of it I still have on recollection or scratch notes. Rebuilding what I had on travelmapping.net (https://travelmapping.net/user/?u=darmstarm) has made me learn that perhaps just "seeing" the route doesn't make it count. I've got a lot of driving to do. Before learning travelmapping existed I had been working on my own webapp - it didn't get very far unfortunately but I could add places I've been directly into the site rather than setting up a github/email/etc.
Alas, I am glad to be here and am looking forward to meeting all of you.
Welcome - I grew up in Newark myself.

Just slightly too far west to be called the Delaware Valley?

ahhhh, that's that one. Yes I am very much a part of that; I think i was mistaking it for delco and blotting it out of mind. I feel like where I live the term is just not used often; next time I'm home i'll take a closer look and see if I'm completely mistaken or not.

That's sick! None of my backgrounds are related to roads, but my dad's is DE 404 (at least sometimes, it cycles).
Welcome from Seattle by way of Chicago! Did you come up with Delmarpa? That would've been a nice northern complement to Delmarva.

As mentioned above, I seemingly forgot that delval existed. However as you mentioned, yes it was intended as a compliment to Delmarva. I'm right by that whole PA/MD/DE 896 debacle and nowhere near NJ so it's more fitting to think of that tri-state area than clumping myself with philly, etc.

That's very polite of you. Good for you!
Here, I'll follow suit and offer a compliment of my own: Order the crab cakes there, and you won't be disappointed!
(I have no idea if that's true. I've never been there.)
Welcome from Virginia!
