Title: Highway 80 Georgia
Post by: bicyclehazard on August 23, 2025, 06:03:07 PM
I just completed a bicycle tour across Georgia.I took highway 80 from Savannah to Statesboro. One of those towns I forget which calls itself the turpentine capital. The smell of the trees is wonderful. there is the normal sent of pine trees but equally strong is the smell of licorice along with many other smells I can't classify. Some where in the back of my mind was the word terpenes. The industry is waning. They should find a way to bottle that smell. Trees make odors for a reason sometimes to repel bugs. And there are plenty of bugs in Georgia. I like to avoid the major tourist traps on my trip and have never regeted it.

You didn't sue the town over the smell inconveniencing you?  You gone soft or something?
