PERRYVILLE, Md. (AP) – State transportation officials say the rehabilitation of Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge is on schedule for completion in September 2011.

The 1.3-mile, four-lane bridge carries traffic on West Pulaski Highway over the Susquehanna River between Perryville and Havre de Grace. It has been limited to one lane in each direction since the $67 million project started in June 2008.

The final stage will mean another shift of lanes, with the center lane closed.

Town and county governments are planning to celebrate completion of the project with a public bridge walk.

Everyone is now on notice that we will have a bridge walk meetup at the Susquehanna.  If DE 1/7 interchange construction starts by then, it could be a full blown meet!  Stay tuned.
