Title: Sign sighting of the day
Post by: Michael in Philly on December 01, 2010, 08:29:49 PM
I'm sure there's a thread somewhere this belongs in, but I've looked around a bit and, nothing.
I know that there are people who take note of exact locations of rarities, and I believe I've read somewhere that there is no non-neutered I-676 marker in existence in Pennsylvania.  I'd certainly never seen one until this afternoon.  On the way home from an office function, I spotted just that (that is to say, a non-neutered Pennsylvania I-676 marker), on Second Street southbound, just north of Callowhill.  To those of you who photograph this sort of thing, enjoy.

Moderators feel free to move, change subject line, etc.

Well I'll be, and its 24x24 too! I'm definetely going to be checking this out this weekend. There is also a state named I-676 shield on a BGS along N 16th Street northbound at I-676 westbound.

I scoured quite a bit over the years and never could find one. Jeff Royston found one in 1998 on an overhead sign assembly, but I could never locate it and assumed it was replaced.

Probably is still there, though haven't been there in a few months. It isn't that old too, 1991 at the earliest. Here is a streetview of it:

Here are the 2 remaining state named PA I-676 shields left. The first one is the one Michael found while the second is the BGS I-676 shield, which appears to be tacked on:
