Title: What is the most common Interstate auxiliary number?
Post by: Quillz on January 03, 2011, 03:29:24 AM
Does anyone know off-hand? I think it might be Interstate 395, as there are currently five in existence, although there used to be a sixth one (now know as Interstate 676.) But I figure that any 1xx or 2xx along a major Interstate is probably quite common, too.

EDIT: Wait, Interstate 295 is more common. There are presently eight I-295 in existence.

Quillz, I-95 goes nowhere near I-96, so how can an I-395 become an I-696? ;)

Also, I think 2nd would go to I-195 with 6.  And 3rd would go to I-110, I-395, & I-495, all with 5.

No. NJDOT briefly proposed the number in early planning stages.

Anyway http://www.kurumi.com/roads/3di/3di-table.html answers the question (as of a few years ago, at least): it's I-295.
