Title: Big Four Bridge

Not really road related but it will be a interesting change to the Louisville waterfront.

Caught a snowy glimpse of that over Xmas weekend. Nice to see that it's not a stalled project - had an odd look to it with half-built pedestrian approaches.

The "Big Four", by the way, are the cities of Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis. The CCC&StL Railway, part of the New York Central system, was nicknamed Big Four, and the name remained on the bridge after it was abandoned.

I've had several "mini" research projects concerning the "Big Four" at the local historical society in the last month. I was wondering if the "Big Four" bridge in Louisville was related to the same Railroad system I've been learning about here in Ohio.
