I was just thinking about all the numbered routes I've ever been on. I was going to do all the states I've been to, but that would be too long, and I don't remember all of them. As it is, it took me about an hour to compile this list. Here's a list of mine (I'm sure I'm missing some):

Connecticut: all signed except CT 182A, which is apparently the state's most remote highway. (Second most remote: CT 132.)

Rather than post a huge table, though, I'll just link to this (http://cmap.m-plex.com/stat/region.php?u=froggie&c=usa&rg=mn&du=mi&sort=ra), though I need to fix my list...I do have all of I-35 and I-35E clinched.

I have- it's cool to see what other people have done. You apparently don't care, so why continue reading and posting in the thread?
I haven't really nailed down the routes I've been on in either of my "home" states, California and Virginia, other than that I've been on all the Interstates and most of the U.S. routes in each. Most of my California travels were when I lived there long ago, and reconstructing from memory my travels on that state highway network (not to mention the numerous numbered county routes) would be a real headache.
Simpler for Hawaii and Alaska. I've been on at least part of every one in Hawaii, including numbered county routes, except the newest state route which opened after my last visit there I've also been on at least part of every numbered state route in Alaska except the isolated Petersburg segment of AK 7. Of course, Alaska has only a dozen numbered state routes.

#2 If you don't care, why are you reading this thread? :eyebrow:
I care because it keeps kids off drugs. And I'd rather they do drugs

That is a totally irrelevant and illogical response. If you have nothing germane to the topic at hand, perhaps you should find another discussion that you DO find interesting.
NE2, posts like that do not contribute to the forum and should be avoided. You should know better than to do things like that by now.
Moving on now...
I've clinched US-8 in Michigan.
I have almost half of Pennsylvania's routes which bear a shield clinched (http://cmap.m-plex.com/stat/region.php?u=pahighways&c=usa&rg=pa&du=mi&sort=ra).

I've been on so many in California, I couldn't possibly think of all of them. Been on nearly every SoCal numbered highway, as well as nearly all the ones in the Bay Area and the Eastern Sierras.
I'd have to sit with a map to figure out how many I've been on.
Clench-wise I have the following:
US:
59, 70, 71, 371, 62, 270, 65, 64, 49, 271
State (AR) in no particular order
45, 112, 16, 255, 22, 27, 43, 103, 94, 102, 72, 12, 23, 10, 68, 265, 295, 59, 162, 282, 348, 180, 47, 21

U.S. Routes: Clinched 12. I've been on all of the rest except 197 and 730. I also have not been on 97 Alternate.
Clinched State Routes: 3, 4, 7, 8, 11, 16, 18, 19, 104, 108, 115, 123, 141, 160, 161, 163, 164, 167, 202, 215, 303, 304, 305, 433, 509, 512, 513, 518, 519, 520, 522, 523, 526, 530, 534, 538, 546, 547, 599, 706, 906.
I've been on all of 20 except for the part that bypasses 215. I'll probably get back out there again this summer or next. I may have 99 clinched, but I have a feeling I'm missing portions in Snohomish County.
Unclinched: 9, 10, 14, 20, 22, 41, 96, 99, 109, 169, 181, 203, 290, 410, 411, 432, 503, 507, 510, 525, 527, 528, 529, 531, 532, 536, 539, 542, 544, 548

first second (dammit I forgot about I-184) highway I ever clinched anywhere

Since you
didn't ask :D , it was one of many different routes I took commuting from Bellingham to Lynden while trying to avoid Meridian (539) like the plague. So I've only been on the westernmost mile or two, cutting over from Hannegan Road to 539.

That makes sense- I understand the desire to avoid Meridian. One of my bigger mistakes was driving my friends up to the Vancouver and saying "Guys, let's skip I-5 and just take Meridian up to the Trans-Canada- the customs line will be shorter." Yeah, the customs line was shorter, but the traffic heading up Meridian was horrible and certainly negated the time savings. I still prefer that route though- you don't have to hassle with trying to follow 99 where it stops being a freeway (which can be a pain) and I'd rather the total time be a bit longer without having to sit stopped for 20 minutes at I-5 or SR 543
Have you driven Boundary Rd in that area yet? All alignments are good- but especially the part where you take Meridian up to the border and then hang a right just before customs. I feel like that's a must see for any roadgeek- Boundary Rd in the USA and 0 Ave in Canada are right next to each other with only like a ten foot wide grassy trench dividing them- it's a fun haul to do once

I'll also let cmap do the work for me -- and be the first to sort my stats in descending order of clinched percentage! ;P
http://cmap.m-plex.com/stat/region.php?u=yakra&c=usa&rg=me&du=mi&sort=pd#t
According to my Maine State Highways system stats (http://cmap.m-plex.com/stat/system.php?u=yakra&sys=usame&du=mi&sort=ra), I have:
Highways traveled: 124 / 193 (64.2%)
Highways fully clinched: 62 / 193 (32.1%)
But that can be a bit misleading: ME113 is counted for 5 segments: 3 in ME + 2 in NH. There's also a NH segment of ME110 counted.
Interstates and US routes aren't counted, being part of different highway systems. I'm too lazy to calculate these stats/percentages taking that into account :)
Bummer that the region pages don't have similar stats to these.

I did it in the 1990s before there was a lot of security...I turned in like I made a wrong turn and it was safer to have me drive around and back out then to back out onto 9th St. I actually got more nervous driving the prison routes...wander in, take some photos then turn around an wander off...nothing suspicious about that!

I know I've forgotten some of the Colorado routes on the northeastern plains, because I haven't been out that way since I was a kid going to my sister's basketball games. That said, other than possibly CO 59 and CO 71 most of the driving (at least to towns whose names I remember) would have been U.S. Highways I've already listed.

I've been on so many in California, I couldn't possibly think of all of them. Been on nearly every SoCal numbered highway, as well as nearly all the ones in the Bay Area and the Eastern Sierras.
Same here as I grew up in La Canada Flintridge.
I think I've been on just about every numbered route in Arizona except for those in the Four Corners region.
And living on the Hawaiian island of Kauai from 1979 to 1986, I clinched all of that island's numbered roads more than once.

I've probably been on more of them, but the list of 90 signed routes above I know I've been on for sure.
OK, I'll bite. I've clinched all the Interstates listed (unless we're counting international border crossings, and except for a couple of miles at the south end of I-475) but haven't been so diligent with the rest of the routes. So...

* - How have not clinched such a short highway? I was only on it for a block to make a U-turn because I missed the turn where U.S. 81 turns west and I haven't been back to South Haven since.
** - I'm not certain if I've been on any of it that still exists. Most of it that I've been on is now K-171 (east), K-47, K-58, and the parts that were concurrent with K-39, U.S. 169, K-99, U.S. 50 and K-177. I've been in the Junction City-Fort Riley area but I can't recall if I've been on any of K-57 there (unless it's concurrent with another highway there).
*** - Both as it currently exists and as it is now. I've been on the former MSR 96 from Eads, Colo., to I-44.

With the way Virginia numbers roads, I doubt it would be practical to try to determine every route I've driven on, so I'll limit my inventory to the more significant ones and I will also omit any that have been significantly rebuilt since the last time I drove on them (e.g., VA-168 was upgraded to a tolled expressway from a four-lane arterial). I will, however, count roads that have been redesignated without any significant changes. I'm going to leave off the majority of secondary routes because it's impractical to list them and because the numbers can be duplicated between counties.
The * denotes a clinch.
These are the ones I can think of, anyway. I'm sure I'm overlooking some numbers somewhere.
Interstates:

US-13 (I think I'm missing a smidgen in Virginia Beach)
US-15 (missing the stretch from Dillwyn to Gordonsville)
US-17 (missing the stretch from Fredericksburg to US-301 and a bit near Yorktown and Newport News)
