Title: Did Michigan ever have lit freeway signs?
Post by: MDOTFanFB on March 16, 2011, 10:49:21 PM
I think the freeway signs in the photo below are lit:

Do you recall the state ever having lit signs (or button copy)?

Michigan definitely had button copy.  I remember seeing some on I-75 for the place the Pistons play in (I forget the name) in Dec. 2006.

You mean the Palace? Beacuse that's where they play. I think they have since been replaced with Clearview signs.

Yes, there used to be an old sign coming up to the I-75 north/M-24 interchange, but it's not there anymore. It definitely had a black square around the M-24 shield and I think the "Lapeer" text was all caps in a slightly different font.

I remember freeway signs lit with fluorescent lights, but I don't think they're as common as they used to be. :coffee:

Also notice the lack of exit numbers.
