Title: US 41 Ohio River bridge struck by barge
Post by: RoadWarrior56 on March 18, 2011, 08:37:03 PM
My dad told me late this afternoon that the US 41 twin bridges south of Evansville were closed for at least an hour this afternoon after a barge hit one of the piers.  In the years I lived in Evansville, I don't recall that ever happening.  I have attached the link to a newspaper story about it.

That could be major..........but could make a I-69 bridge more in the spotlight.

They have barge strikes down toward Paducah all the time -- the US 51, 45 and I-24 bridges have it happen more often than you'd think.
