Which "named" highway shield signs are the best? (Bridge shields accepted too)
My favorite: (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fa1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net%2Fhphotos-ak-snc4%2F58576_528558403278_71700498_31379201_8383579_n.jpg&hash=11dffaeeabe532acac5cb032219ba24fe42aa6f2)
That god damn Sawgrass frog:

a classic with cateyes:

one that predates cateyes:

one only recently taken out of service:

and an old example of a style still used today:

Always a favorite of mine.

Love the trailblazers that use a map including the path of the toll road.
Like these...

And while not exactly like a classic shield, these signs are pretty cool too...

I have a page that collects named highway shields (and some others) but unfortunately most are of fairly poor quality:

Is that second photo supposed to be cut-off, Jake?
Looks like bad compression. I see the whole thing but it's a little jumpy about 1/4 of the way down.

that's really weird. the image of the Old Trails diamond shows up perfectly for me, just as I intended when I photographed the sign. in any case, here is another example of such a shield:

18" style was used all over the country, while 15" seems to be unique to California.
That Mass Pike trailblazer with the arrow through the hat has to be my favorite. Some of my other favorites include the New York Thruway, the New Jersey Turnpike, Florida's Turnpike, and the Long Island parkway shield.

Wow, I love that one.
