Title: Old Highway Videos on the Internet
Post by: RoadWarrior56 on June 08, 2011, 06:27:40 PM
I have discovered several videos on YouTube that pertain to old highways or include old highways in them.  One I just recently discovered is called   "The Bus Driver".  It is an old Encyclopedia Brittanica film from 1945 that chronicles a bus trip between New York City and Pittsburgh.

Anybody who is a baby boomer like myself probably remembers those old black and white Britannica films from their grade school school days.  But I digress.  This video has some interesting views of the roadways in NJ and PA, including some views of the very early Pennsylvania Turnpike.  I have attached a link below.

Has anybody found some other similar videos on YouTube or other sources that they could link?  I remember that Iowa video about US 30 that somebody posted earlier this year.

The following is a favorite on my site's YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/pahighways) page.  It is footage of a westbound trip on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in 1953 but edited to show only the then five tunnels between the Blue Mountain and Breezewood interchanges.
