Title: A signage error is a "capitol" offense...

A citizen noticed one of the signs entering Carson City, the capital of Nevada, misspells the word "capital" with the similar "capitol". Apparently, most people interviewed don't know the difference...

This appears to be a fairly recent error, as a picture of the boundary sign below (linked below) from AARoads.com taken on 9/9/2005 has the correct spelling.

A NDOT spokesperson says the sign will be replaced.

Kind of a tricky error for sign makers, since a lot of the signs they make will use "State Capitol" directing them to the actual Capitol building.
