The only US highway I haven't been on in Mississippi is US 72. The only two I've clinched entirely are 49 (excluding 49E) and 82. I'm missing a piece of US 90 east of Pascagoula. The only other US highways I've clinched in another state are US 51 and 61 through Tennessee.
there are still a bunch of old alignments I haven't hit, especially of 99 and 101, and also routes like 48 and the southern 101W whose routings no one has an exact idea of, as well as various city alignments that persisted for a brief interval that no one knows about because no one's bothered to look at old city maps and note that, despite the fact that US-99 ran down 4th St in 1932 and 1934, it ran down 5th St in 1933.
but I've driven everything signed as of 1964 which is possible to drive today (which is nearly all of it).
I've clinched all the US Route mileage in Wyoming and Washington. I've still got a lot of work to do in Arizona.
Nationally, I've only clinched US-16, US-730, US-189, and US-195. I've ridden in a car for the entire length of US-26 (only driven it from Boise to Ogallala)
As far as Arizona is concerned, I've clinched US-95 and US-70. I have all of US-60 west of Globe, the I-40 concurred part of US-180 and the I-10 concurred part of US-191.
Not for me, but my best progress is in Michigan.
US-2 (never been on)
US-8 (never been on)
US-10 (missing between Reed City and Farwell as well as east of Coleman)
US-12 (been on a short section in Hillsdale County)
US-23 (been on south of I-96)
US-24 (never been on)
US-31 (missing south of I-94)
US-127 (missing between Clare and Houghton Lake as well as south of I-94)
US-131 (missing north of Alba and south of I-94)
US-223 (only been on the redundant concurrency with US-23)
Georgia:
Clinched: None (in fact, don't even have more than 40% of any one)
Been on: 17, 19, 23, 27, 29, 41, 76, 78, 80, 84, 129, 221, 278, 280, 319, 441
Haven't been on: 1, 11, 25, 82, 123, 301, 341, 378, 411
My best progress, however, is in Maryland*, where I traveled nearly half its US route network in my two years living there:
Clinched: 15, 29, 340
Been on, but not clinched: 1, 13, 40, 50 (missing only disconnected segment in western MD), 219, 220, 301, 522
Haven't been on: 11, 113, 222
* Actually, my best progress is in DC, which is 100% clinched, but that's not a state.
In Ohio, I have not been on US 27, 35, and 127
Only US routes (within Ohio) I have clinched are US 23, 33, 40, and 322
(I did have US 30 clinched before the expressway portion between Ada and Upper Sandusky was completed several years ago)
I have traveled on portions of US 6, 20, 22, 24, 36, 42, 50, 52, 62, 68, 224, 250, 422
No, but I have been on all of US-41, US-12, and US-52 in Illinois.
The US routes I haven't been on in Pennsylvania are US 6N, 20, 62, 206, 224, and 422 (western). I've been on all the others with US 1, 13, 202, and 422 (eastern) clinched.
EDIT: For what it's worth, I've also been on US 1 Business in Penndel, US 15 Business in Gettysburg, US 30 Business in Downingtown (clinched), US 322 Business in West Chester (clinched), Truck US 322 in Downingtown (clinched), and Business US 422 in Reading.
Nope.
I have US (99W), 101 and 199, but I'm missing:
US 20 from OR 226 to OR 22, and from US 97 to Ontario.
US 26 from OR 35 to Ontario.
US 30 independent of I-84 east of OR 82 and from exit 76(?) through The Dalles to US 197.
US 95 from NV to ID.
US 97 north of OR 58.
(US 99) from OR 42 north to I-5, through Roseburg, and from the Cottage Grove split to UofO.
(US 99E) from Junction City to Tangent.
US 197 from US 97 to US 30.
US 395 outside of I-82 or I-84.
US 730 from I-84 to WA.
And various business routes.
I have been on all US routes in Oregon including 730 and 199 (now there's some real separation between those two!) but by no means have I clinched them all. There's a whole lotta country in the USA's 10th biggest state to see and even though I'm native I have yet to check it all out.
Frenchglen anyone?

I've been to Frenchglen. You're not missing much.
In Illinois, I've been on US 6, US 12, US 14, US 20, US 24, US 30, US 34, US 41, US 45 (I think), US 51, and US 52

is the entire 205 paved from Burns to the Nevada state line? I've always wanted to drive it but have hesitated because I know Oregon likes to randomly end state maintenance and turn the road to dirt.

The OR 205 designation ends at the Roaring Springs Ranch south of Frenchglen, but the road continues to the Nevada state line as a couple of Harney County roads that are indeed paved. Take the drive sometime; that is some seriously empty country. There's a little store/cafe in Fields that serves up a mean burger.
As far as Oregon goes:
US-20: Driven and ridden on. Not clinched. Driving, have only been from Albany to Corvallis, and short stretches in Sisters and Bend. Riding, have been from Newport to Albany, and Santiam Jct. to Burns.
US-26: Driven on and ridden on. Not clinched. Driving, have been on the sections between Manning and Inner SE Portland. Riding, have been on everything between the coast and the OR-207 junction in Mitchell, perhaps save small isolated sections in Outer SE Portland and Gresham.
US-30: Driven and ridden on. Not clinched. Driving, have only been on sections multiplexed or parallel to I-84. Ridden on everything between Astoria and I-82 near Hermiston, perhaps save a few isolated stretches parallel to I-84.
US-95: Never been on at all.
US-97: Driven and ridden on. Not clinched. Driving, have been on the sections between OR-58 and Redmond, and over the Sam Hill Bridge. Riding mileage adds the section from Redmond up to Shaniko.
US-101: Ridden on, never driven on. Not clinched. Pretty much everything from Newport to Astoria.
US-197: Ridden and driven on. Not clinched. Driving, only between WA-14 and I-84, riding between The Dalles and Maupin.
US-395: Ridden on, never driven on. Not clinched. Only the US-20 multiplex between Riley and Burns.
US-730: Ridden on probably about 20 years ago--don't know how far. Never driven.

I've wanted to head out that way for awhile--supposedly, the cafe in Fields also serves up a mean milkshake. I plan to reward myself with that journey once I (finally) get to the ABD stage on my Ph.D. Not just for the milkshake, but for the excuse to drive 1000 miles or so through some nice desert. :sombrero:
Delaware: not even fair, I've clinched US 9, US 13, US 40, US 113 US 202, US 301...and that's it, folks!

sounds good; I'll take it next time I'm up there. might not be for a few months.
is the road cleared during winter? I've done 95 and 140 through that general area in the winter so I don't see a general problem, as long as it isn't in the middle of a snowstorm, and the roads are plowed.
I guess I ought to answer the overall question in this topic: I have actually clinched every US Highway in Oregon. I'm pretty close to clinching Washington and Idaho, if it weren't for US 2 over Stephens Pass and US 97 between Ellenburg and Wenatchee, and US 89 in eastern Idaho.
Sounds like you have a day trip to Wenatchee to make!

Can't help you here, but my guess would be given the utter lack of people along the road, combined with the shear size and meager resources in Harney County, it would be a low priority for snow operations. Probably a road to avoid during severe weather. However, it's not closed in winter, so that has to mean it either doesn't get much snow or they keep it open.

I want to take the boat up Lake Chelan this summer, so if I ever make that happen, I could pick up those roads. But I don't make a particular effort to clinch highways; the fact that I've been on nearly all of them is a side-effect of how much I travel each summer. But I do want to drive on US 2 over Stevens Pass sometime. However, I actually want to take old 97 south of Wenatchee instead of the modern route -- I hear that road's got some character!

Clinched all US mileage in Kentucky and West Virginia.
Off the top of my head I think I have been on the mainlines of all of them in Tennessee (but I am not certain about US 78, would have to closely examine a Memphis-area map), Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Virginia.
EDIT: For some silly reason I thought the only US highway in the UP was US 2. :ded:

is anyone even 100% certain how the US routes go through Memphis? I thought there was some ambiguity, and the signage sure doesn't help much.
the other states in which I have done all current mainline US route mileage are Nevada, New Mexico, Florida, and every New England state. I'm missing only I-10 to Douglas on US-191 in Arizona, and a few brief segments of 189 and 191 in Utah.
Of these states, I have not done all the old alignments - some because I have not bothered to research it, and others because I do not dare. For example, Nevada has some that are just barely pushing the limits of driveability, as it seems to be that state's policy that whenever they build a new road 50 feet to the side of the old one, they mark the old road as "not maintained - travel at your own risk" and let it fall to decay.
Clinched all US route mileage (including auxiliary routes such as business and alternate routes) in Maryland, Delaware, and D.C.
In California, missing only all of US 199, and part or all of many auxiliary routes, such Alt US 50 (part still closed by snow on July 7 -- hey, where's global warming when you need it? -- but reopened the following week after I arrived in Colorado).
Not even close in Virginia.

For Connecticut, yes.
However, I don't know how much longer I'll get to keep calling Connecticut "my state". And for New York, which I will inevitably be moving (back) to sooner or later, not even close.
For Michigan:
US 2 I have clinched all of it in MI except between Watersmeet and Iron River (and the business spur)
US 8 Clinched.

Been on, but not clinched:
US-6 (all east of where it meets US-34; along I-74 in the Quad Cities)
US-14 (all from Harvard eastward)
US-20 (Dubuque to Cherry Valley; Marengo to Indiana)

I don't think I've clinched any of them in Florida, except US 192. There's a lot of segments that I've missed to hit up all the little state and county roads. I can't tell if I clinched the little sections of Business 1, 41, and the Alternate 27 segments.
I have driven on most of US Routes 1, 41, 17, 441, 27, 98, and 92.
There's a few I've just taken for a few miles: 90, 19, 129.
Haven't been near 231, 331, 29 (although in South Carolina, I have).
