These photos, which range from the 1930s to the 1990s, are primarily aerial or wide-scale shots of interchanges and roadwork; but there are some sign photos as well. Organized by date (sometimes incorrect) and state.
EDIT: this link (and a lot of highway history links) are now broken. They redirect to http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/index.cfm or return errors. :-(

Worked just fine for me, though I saw that several photos were duplicates.
