Oklahoma City has posted 30 signs marking US 66 and related attractions.
$347 to make 28 signs, each 24x30 inches? damn, who are they using as their contractor? that's about 12 bucks a sign. For me it would cost at least four times that - more if I wanted a smaller quantity!
They are not very thick. I'm wondering what they will look like after the first hailstorm.

Are they metal or plastic?
Probably cardboard!

If they
are cardboard, they are probably corrugated plastic cardboard. But surely we have a reporter in the field who can verify this? :hmmm:
Was going to do that today, but its too rainy. Maybe by Friday. Will post pics.

Got some pics of one of the signs on Lincoln Blvd northbound just before I44. I don't know how to embed them in the message, so I posted them at:

I love this... but yet, looking at Oklahoma signage, I have serious doubts.
Serious doubts about what?

Good pics. Looks like standard signage, not the el cheapo/inferior stuff we were worried about.
