Title: why are there no integers between 2 and 3?
Post by: agentsteel53 on October 21, 2011, 05:29:49 PM
if such a number existed, would we use it as a speed limit?  if so, how many lanes?

Why can you have fractions between integers, but there are no interstates with fractions in their number?

I think the night speed limit should be the same as the number of lanes

Please use that from now on whenever you need a number between 2 and 3.

But, if you are driving a Gran Neutrino faster than the previously known speed limit, could you possibly observe it between 2 and 3, at night?

It depends on what the meaning of the words 'integer', 'two', and 'three' are.

In all seriousness, we've defined 3 to be the next integer after 2. Had we defined another one between 2 and 3 (and no others), we'd have 2+2=3 and there would be three lights.

Because then the speed of light would be like way, way faster than it is now.  Not to mention the price of coffee would be through the roof!  And we wouldn't be able to drive anymore cuz all the highways would be in the wrong place.
