I even got a call from Reuters in Chicago today about this. This story may get some national play!
(This is my first time posting in the Bridges forum. That's not usually one of my major areas of interest.)
This has happened in Oregon a few times, though the bridge in question is usually a covered bridge. A number of municipalities, including Stayton, Sweet Home, and Myrtle Creek have acquired covered bridges that are being replaced, and re-erected them in city parks.
There was also talk of Portland relocating the old Sauvie Island Bridge as a pedestrian-bike bridge over I-405, but many balked over the $5 million pricetag, so it never happened. I'm not sure what then became of the bridge; probably ended up as scrap metal.

Does anyone know how to get in contact with that Bridge Park in Michigan? Steve A. suggested that as a possibility.
I found a contact person and emailed them the public notice. We'll see if we get any interest from them.

I would think they'd be hard-pressed to find a spot in the park to erect it, given that the longest bridge which spans the entrance is 176.8 feet. Plus I don't think they'd add anything else to the park until the Enbridge oil spill cleanup is complete (the park is closed to the public until then).
We're getting calls from as far away as Texas and Wyoming. We may have even gotten an inquiry from California. I'm fixing to do an interview with a show host from Sirius/XM.
And to think I didn't have to pay PRWeb for all this publicity! :-D

I wonder if the people in PA who had their bridge stolen would be interested in this?
