Alfredo sauce

Not alfredo sauce, but Alfredo Sauce. Mr. Sauce was a gourmand in his own right.

Speaking of nuts, Waldorf Salad: named for the Waldorf-Astoria hotel, which is named after the Astor family.

Caesar Cardini, who invented it either in San Diego or Tijuana - no one seems to remember which of his restaurants it was at where he had run out of ingredients and had to improvise.

A guy in my father's law school class had the nickname "Studly." My father and his friends still make a drink called the "Studly Sour," a concoction made in a blender involving frozen pink lemonade mix, blended American whiskey, beer, and maraschino cherry juice. Sounds disgusting, tastes really good.
