Title: Old Signs: Refurbish?
Post by: US71 on November 28, 2011, 09:48:13 AM
E-bay has an old  Curve -->  (http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120819519062&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123/) sign that has been repainted. It actually looks very nice, though $300 is a bit out of my budget right now.

I was wondering what everyone thought about repainted signs?  I've seen a few that were very good, but many more were not. Would you buy a sign that has been repainted?

If it's a really old sign and something I like, I might if I can afford it.

For me it would depend on how accurate to the era the refurbishment was and how well the refurbishment was done (i.e. not sloppy).

Here's a sloppy refurbish  (http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190610758870&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123/), though it looks ;like it was done a long time ago and isn't recent.
