Title: State DOT Travel Condition Websites
Post by: JREwing78 on January 12, 2012, 06:59:29 AM
I recently was on Wisconsin's travel information website, 511wi.gov. I noticed they had implemented a new service that texts you if there's an incident on your commute.

I signed up by going to http://my511.511wi.gov/, and set up my commutes and the phones to send the text messages to. I was also able to set specific times to alert me (so it doesn't text me at 2am about the semi that flipped on I-90).

I'm curious how common this feature is, and what other neat tricks other DOT's with their websites to keep motorists informed.
